Choose one context, such as contacting a teacher or making an appointment. Practice five useful phrases, then use one in a real situation this week.
Try: ‘I’d like to ask about my child’s progress.’ ‘Could you explain the homework?’ ‘Could we schedule a meeting?’ ‘I need an interpreter in Spanish.’ Practice slowly, then switch roles.
Practice: ‘My name is…’ ‘I’m calling to make an appointment.’ ‘Could you repeat that slowly?’ ‘Could you send the details in a text message?’ Write down the date, time, and location.
Spend 5 minutes listening to a short dialogue, 5 minutes repeating three useful phrases, and 5 minutes role-playing. Repeat the same situation over several days before changing topics.
